HURRICANE WATCH: Marty is moving slowly west just off the southwestern Mexican coastline, west-southwest of Acapulco. Marty will continue to gradually weaken over the next 12-24 hours before dissipating by the weekend. Rain will gradually diminish across the region into tonight. Areas near the coast could have an additional 1-2inches.
Despite Marty’s close proximity to the coast, it is not expected to make landfall and will begin to shift westward and eventually out to sea. Rough surf and rip currents will lash the Mexican coastline for the next few days.
Meanwhile, a new tropical depression may form over the next couple of days several hundred miles to the southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.
Thursday looks like more smallish, short interval, NW wind swell in the waist high zone.
